The Library Foundation conducts a broad range of programs and activities that support our library in numerous and diverse ways. Many of the Library Foundation's programs are devoted to literacy, reading, and increasing the entire community's access to information and knowledge.
With more than 600,000 users, the Austin Public Library provides a wide range of information and services to enrich the lives of library cardholders and the greater Austin community. Austin Public Library consists of Faulk Central Library, 20 branch libraries, Recycled Reads, and Austin History Center.
Facing iconic Ladybird Lake and nestled alongside Shoal Creek, Austin's New Central Library will be a vibrant hub of cultural activity that will redefine Austinites library experience. Designed by award-winning Lake Flato Architects and Shepley Bullfinch, the building will contain unique spaces and distinctive features that will vastly expand the Austin Public Library's capacity to provide access to information, knowledge, and cultural enrichment.
