Badgerdog Youth Workshop: Writing with Words and the Body

In this workshop we will explore the relationship between our physicals and cerebral selves. We will incorporate simple movement techniques to give us to new information and inspiration to write from. No movement experience is necessary. Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Led by Badgerdog teaching artist Elizabeth Doss, this event is free and open to youth in 3rd through 6th grade. Please RSVP as space is limited.

Alternative-R&B singer Mélat released her sixth studio album Move Me II: The Present earlier this year to rave reviews. Born and raised in the Austin area, Mélat inherited a transcontinental worldview from her parents, who emigrated from Ethiopia in the 1980s. Austin-based writer and Texas historian Joe Nick Patoski launches his latest, a modern history of the “City of the Violet Crown" through the real-life characters who've helped shape the Austin we know today.
