The Austin Public Library and The Library Foundation present a new art exhibit in the Central Library’s Art Gallery. MIRROR MIRRORED is a collection of works by contemporary artists, both local and national, inspired by fairy tales. Learn more about the questions driving this exhibit, how it came together, and hear how several artists positioned their work in relation to the popular narratives many of us know from childhood. Corwin Levi, who envisioned and executed this collaboration (along with a beautiful book), will talk about themes, techniques, and statements in the artwork. Followed by a panel discussion with artist Katy Horan, whose work appears in the exhibit, and Susan Miville, with Austin Symphony Orchestra, which will provide fairy-tale inspired performances at the Austin Public Library. Local artist Yuliya Lanina will moderate. The exhibit itself runs from January 28 to February 24.
