The Library Foundation's events offer unique & exciting ways for Library Lovers to celebrate literacy & learning while supporting the Austin Public Library.

APL After Dark
Dress up, dork out, and dance in the Central Library after closing time! APL After Dark is the Austin Public Library's quarterly, themed, adults-only Friday night in Austin's most beautiful public space. Each event's theme offers entertainment that feeds adult curiosities and inner-child passions. Previous events featured a petting zoo, dinosaur pop-up museum, comedians, DJ, crafts, snacks, and adult beverages. Ticket sales support future APL After Dark events, as well as other library programs and initiatives.

Banned Books Bash
Our annual Banned Books Bash is a raucous, irreverent celebration of the freedom to read whatever we please! Because, unfortunately, censorship continues in school districts and communities across the country, this event brings awareness to threats against access to literature of all kinds. Typically held at the end of September (coinciding with ALA's Banned Books Week), this event features storytellers, comedians, musicians, trivia, and more!

Stories Gala
The Stories Gala is our annual fundraiser supporting the Austin Public Library. Guests experience an elegant evening in the Central Library — cocktails, dinner, and stories highlighting the library's impact in our community.
