This edition of APL After Dark celebrates eras of the past and future as we head into the new decade of 2020!

Learn about genealogy research, celebrate historical figures, enjoy retro crafts, and experience history-themed virtual reality.

  • Nancy Toombs from the Austin History Center will give a 20-minute presentation starting at 8pm in the demo area on how to use Austin Public Library resources to begin genealogy research projects.
  • APL librarians will help you look up an ancestor in a genealogy database at one of our genealogy computer stations.
  • Step up to our open mic and tell the world why your favorite historical figure matters most to you. Sign up here!
  • Come dressed as your favorite influencer, advocate, politician, artist, or innovator from another era.
  • Experience history virtually at one of our VR stations.
  • Create crafts from different time periods.
