Recently, staff at the Spicewood Springs Branch Library were saddened to learn that H-E-B planned to close its nearby store, a longtime neighbor of the library.
But then they got a surprise, said Hannah Fassett, library branch manager.
“H-E-B team members stopped by with a fruit tray, a check for $10,000, and a $250 gift card. I teared up!”
“The check and gift card will go to The Library Foundation. We are so sad that this store will no longer be here because it is a staple for both customers and team members, but we were really moved by the kindness and generosity of the H-E-B team. We are excited to put their gift to use for the community.”
