Ella Kim, 2024 Austin Youth Poet Laureate, was recently interviewed on KXAN’s Studio 512.
In the segment, Ella read from her poem “As Writ,” one of five she submitted with her application.
“I never thought of myself as a poet,” Ella told Rosie Newberry, Studio 512 host. “I’ve always been drawn to other forms of creative writing. I was thrilled to find out (I had been selected.) I’m super excited about the term ahead.”
Ella and the five finalists will be reading their poetry at a free event Dec. 14.
